Welcome Letter from Founding President/CEO
Welcome to the Nashville Global Academy, a free public charter school that serves students in grades K-8. We are a nurturing, values-driven learning community that affords each student with opportunities to develop and flourish academically, socially and emotionally. Our hallmarks are academic excellence, civic engagement and social responsibility. We prepare our students to become effective citizens and leaders who will effect change in our twenty-first century’s global society.
We are striving to obtain certification by the International Baccalaureate Organization for the Primary Years and Middle Years Programmes. To this end, we offer an international, transdisciplinary program that is designed to foster development of the whole child, not just in the classroom but also through other means. These include innovative practicum and studio experiences, study of multiple foreign languages, and both domestic and international study-travel experiences. Use of the Core Knowledge Curriculum and the Open Court Reading and Alternative Reader programs further enhance our academic programming.
The Nashville Global Academy focuses on the total growth of your children, touching hearts as well as minds and encompassing social, physical, emotional and cultural needs in addition to academic welfare.
