Saturday Classes
Classes will be held on two (2) Saturdays each month, September through May, and will adhere to the following schedule.
8:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. Breakfast
9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Instruction in core academic subjects with an emphasis on reading and mathematics. Grades K-4 students will spend 90 minutes on each subject in order to provide them ample time to probe deeply into the content of each course. Through this additional instructional time, teachers will be able to target those students who need help and for those performing at grade level, to challenge their skills. Students in grades 5-8 will work on those core academic subjects in which they need the most work, e.g., English/language arts, mathematics, social studies, and/or science. These students will have one hour of instruction in each of the courses.
12:00 p.m. – 12:30 p.m. Lunch
12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Co-Curricular experiences including intramural sports, the fine or performing arts, computer science, character education, and/or civic engagement will occur during this period. If students need additional instruction in core academic subjects, they will complete said work and if time permits, will then participate in a co-curricular experience.
2:30 p.m. Transport Home
