Grading Policy
The Nashville Global Academy uses a standards based reporting system for grades K-4 that is based on the work produced by the student to address grades level standards. The criteria that will be utilized to determine grades include oral performance, written performance, class work/homework, individual portfolios and journals, and assessments. Teachers will be expected to use their professional judgment based on the developmental level of the student.
For grades K-4 grades, letter grades translated from numerical scores will be reported on report cards and cumulative records. For grades 5-8, numerical grades will be reported on report cards and cumulative records. The grading scale is, however, the same for all grade levels. This is because we believe that students will attain high levels of achievement if there are high expectations, dedicated and excellent teachers, and a nurturing learning community.
94-100 =A Excellent
88-93 = B Above Average
79-87 = C Average
